About the PDF print utility

The PDF print utility is a separate application that must be downloaded and installed on your computer. It is compatible only with computers equipped with Microsoft operating systems. 

 

To use the  PDF print utility you need Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 installed on your computer.

 

If you use a Macintosh computer, you will not be able to use this utility.

 

The utility generates PDF versions of every SoA that your institution has entered in the FDSR system and saves them in a location on your network that you select.

 

This allows you to retain completed SoAs for your files and to print PDF versions of multiple SoAs. This is especially useful if you have many SoAs that need on-paper approval from the researcher.

 

Although you can use the utility at any point in the process of completing your SoAs in the FDSR system, it makes the most sense to wait until all the SoAs have been approved before using the utility to generate PDF version of the SoAs for you to retain.

 

The files you generate with the SoA PDF utility will not include any changes made to the records in the FDSR system after you use the utility, so if you use the utility while you are still in the process of editing records, you would need to run it again to ensure that the SoAs you retain are accurate.
